Le Tour de France 2022 in the LOT !
In 2022 the Tour de France returns to the Lot with not one, but two stages taking place in the department. Twice the chance to see the riders and discover the Lot!
First of all, the peloton will enter the Lot on 22 July via the Quercy-Blanc, for one of the longest stages of the Tour. The riders will then reach the vineyards of Cahors, before descending to the Lot Valley and arriving in Cahors. It was in 2007 that the city of Cahors hosted the Tour for the last time. This stage, which started in the morning in the Hautes-Pyrénées, will end in Cahors.
But that's not all! The riders will continue the next day, July 23, with the penultimate stage of the Tour. This one will be 100% Lotois with a 40 km time trial between Lacapelle-Marival and Rocamadour. A stage between the green plateaus of the Limargue and the arid plateaus of the Causses du Quercy. The final stage, with an 8% climb to the promontory of Rocamadour, should be decisive for the outcome of this 20th stage.
The route can still be changed, but the main lines have been set. Lovers of cycling, of great sporting events or simply of physical performance, the date is set!
